My name is Chris Brecka , and I am the founder of Healthy Creations a Specialty Bakery. My forte is gluten-free baking as ALL of my products are guaranteed gluten-free , but most of the items I bake can also be altered to suit individual needs.
In 1994 , after a lengthy illness , and many doctor visits , my 3½ year old son was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. The gluten-free diet , positively , saved his life. In 1996 , at the age of 3 , my youngest daughter was also diagnosed with the same disorder. Having two of three children on a restricted Celiac diet , I was seriously motivated to improve my gluten-free baking skills. Since I am downright obsessive about the quality of food that I feed my children , I felt it was necessary to supply them with deliciously appealing baked goods. Being aware that this is a diet for life , I was determined to create products that would rival their gluten counterparts. This will be the only diet my children will know. I don't ever want them feeling like they have to go without. I understand and appreciate what it is like to have a food allergy or intolerance. Finding tasty , allergy-free foods , and products with a pleasing texture , can sometimes be difficult. I have made it a personal goal to create products that will make our "regular food" eating friends jealous.
Healthy Creations began in 1998 as a "made-to-order" business with the hopes of one day opening an actual bakery. That day has come and we have finally made the big step forward and have opened our bakery in a commercial establishment. I still enjoy baking allergy-free foods and I am really looking forward to the new challenges of baking out of a fully equipped bakery.
