When I was diagnosed with Celiac, I was both relieved and nervous. I was relieved to finally have a diagnosis and have something that I could control with diet. What I soon discovered is that just about everything has wheat and or "gluten" in it. I decided to narrow down my diet to those things that I knew for sure were G.F. What I missed the most were the simple things in life. I would barbeque some burgers on the grill, but not be able to have a burger like everyone else, with a bun. I missed pizza, I missed a
simple sandwich.
I then began to venture to many different venues that sold G.F. bread or professed to make it locally. Whether it was frozen bread from the grocer, or G.F. bread made locally that was made in a regular bakery, all were disappointing and expensive.
I then heard about Healthy Creations in Windsor. I located this jewel of a bakery on the corner of Dougall and Cabana in Windsor. I must admit it was hard to find at first, but now, you can easily find the store from the roadside, as they have dressed one of their windows proudly professing GLUTEN FREE & totally delicious. (did I mention that most G.F. products that I found locally were also bland?)
For you hard core folks out there, not only are these baked products delicious, they are SAFE. and totally GLUTEN FREE.
The drive to Windsor is worth it. You see, I drive from Chatham to Windsor to buy a loaf of bread. I probably drive to Healthy Creations once a month, and simply stock up. I freeze the items, and use them as needed. A loaf of bread, from Healthy Creations, frozen, is 100x better than anything you can find in your local grocer.
Keep up the good work folks, you have a customer for life..

I would like to thank you for developing a bakery that is truly a Specialty!! Your baking reflects your warm and friendly environment of your store. This is a picture of our birthday cake we made together!!! It is the first cake I have enjoyed and digested!!! Thank you for all your support.

I went to Healthy Creations Bakery to see if they had anything that I could ship out to Saskatchewan for some relatives. What an amazing place that had a great assortment of items that my relatives out West could not find. Two boxes were shipped and arrived 4 days later with all the baked goods and loaves of bread intact. My relatives called me ecstatic with all the goodies that were inside the care packages. They say that they will e-mail me a list of favourites that I will definitely tuck into the next care package. Chris Brecka took the time to answer any questions and offer suggestions to us as we picked out goodies. Thanks very much for taking the time to help me make my relatives out in Saskatchewan smile and able to enjoy some favourites that they have missed over the years. I am spreading the word about your bakery. Keep up the great work!!

I was glad to read that your baked goods are made in a dedicated kitchen for people with Celiac disease and other food allergies and/or intolerance’s . I have celiac and both of my children are severely allergic to dairy, especially my son who's anaphylaxis allergic to any and all forms of dairy, and cross-contamination is always a major worry for us. We were in your bakery this afternoon to purchase some yummy treats and my son said that your apple pie was "worth busting open his piggy bank for"! LOL We will certainly be back for more; I'm dying to try your gluten free cheesecake, Thanks for caring enough to share your goodies

I am soooooo thankful for your baked goods! My son is on a special gluten free/casein free diet, due to a gastral-intestinal tract problem and autism... he has been eating store bought rice bread for almost 2 years now. I have even tried baking it myself from store bought mixes... Its dry, and not very tasty! Today, his Nanny and grampa from Windsor came, with TONS of baked goods from your store! An apple crumble pie, loafs of bread, muffins, pizza crust, sub buns, cookies- WOW! I couldn’t even believe how delicious the bread is... my son DEVOURED it! This is going to make school lunches much more fun!!! Whenever we come to Windsor, we are definitely stopping in, and stocking up! You have fans out in Merlin now!!! And I'm spreading the word to all my gluten free/casein free friends! You have NO IDEA how thankful I am for a specialty store to open up like this! It really lifts a load off my shoulders, knowing my 4 year old is getting YUMMY, healthy food in his body! THANK YOU!!!

Wow! Amazing delicious products, smelling and tasting like the REAL THING. Thank you Chris for your diligence and patience over the years to develop these wonderful baked goods. The Multigrain bread is simply divine. I actually cried when I tasted it....it had been eleven years since I ate anything that tasted like normal bread. Yeah Chris!!

"Healthy Creations gluten-free products are so good, they taste like "REAL" (the ultimate gluten-free standard). I especially like the multigrain bread, the dinner rolls, and the granola bars. I take the granola bars with me when I travel, I serve the dinner rolls when I have guests and I keep the multigrain bread all to myself. I often joke that a Celiac would walk a mile for a muffin (GF that is!). I cross the border for mine."
